I always find architecture inspiring. I love the structures, the spaces and the textures that unfold especially when photographed so beautifully like in Deimel+Wittmar’s photos of architecture from the 1920’s in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany (pictures 1, 5, 6)
There is a young artist, Dominik Louda, showing now at the Kerstin Engholm Gallery in Vienna who also uses architectural elements in his paintings. I like how his spaces are almost real, recognisable yet non-existant, and that they are constructed of architectural planes more than being actual architectural spaces. The exhibition runs only until May 5th so I hope to still make it there this week!
Last week I stopped by Song and saw this couch table which in turn has a similar color scheme as the previous painting which I so much like by Dominik Louda. The table is by Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek.
